What do Keywords and Hits tell me?

Hi Guys,


I have trouble interpreting the data when I click on 'Searches' --> 'Keywords'. I understand that Hits are Page Impressions. But what am I to make of this data?

If for example it says: Berlin --- 658 Hits

This does not mean that there were 658 Page Impressions when somebody looked for 'Berlin' in Google, does it? So where, what...??? :/

Any help much appreciated.

A keyword is part of a search, like if I search "Dog Mittens", "Dog" is a keyword and "Mittens" is a keyword. I think this is how many times that keyword was contained in a search string that brought up your website.

Thus in the beginning example:
Dog - 1 Hit
Mittens - 1 Hit

Don't take my word for this as I don't work for Clicky but this is how I interrupt this data.

Thanks for the quick answer clarification. I think I understand now what it counts...but what is one suppose to do with that info?

If for example berlin is the keyword that brought up my website most often. Should I use the word berlin even more in my website and SEO?

What kind of actions do you guys derive from this?

Yeah it's for SEO. Main use I can think of is if you have Google AdWords, it gives you a better idea what Keyword to play for more money or which ones for less, etc... but they have metrics of their own for it.

It's not really something you should use more or change on your website, it's just a statistic where people are coming from like Referral URLs. If you want to play in a market more with certain Keywords or change up your meta tags.

As the tempareture inceasing hot day after day, and the step of summer vocation is just around the corner, what plan do you made for your vivid summer?Swimming in the sea and hang about in the sand beach is a common plan year by year and one by one.
