Norms for Bounce Rate and TIme on Site
Is it possible to provide norms for the Bounce Rate and Time on Site numbers? I have heard norms for the conventional calculation of Bounce Rate. How much lower should the Bounce Rate be when it is based on a definition of bounce in which a user who remains more than 30 seconds is not viewed as having bounced?Rob

I might be mistaken but, regardless of time, a bounce is if somebody goes to your site and does not go to a 2nd page. I also think this is how clicky calculates a bounce?

I believe Clicky is different. I believe that Clicky counts a bounce only if someone leaves the site within 30 seconds. If the visitor stays on a single page for more than 30 seconds, it is not a bounce under the Clicky metrics.
Here is a blog entry providing background:

Correct, we factor in time on site. There is no "norm" though... every site is unique. But I would say if your bounce rate is over 50% or your average time on size is less than 1 minute, then your site is probably not very engaging.
