Canonical URLs

A quick question about canonical URLs and clicky.

We are planning to add canonical URLs to our pages to improve searchability. Does clicky respect canonical URLs?

For example, if there are two valid URLs for a page and that page has a canonical URL, will visits to that page be counted against the specific URL used or will they all be considered to have visited the canonical URL?

(Canonical URLs are described at http://googlewebmastercentral.blogspot.com.au/2009/02/specify-your-canonical.html )

Thanks in advance.

I don't think it does. Whatever the URL is that your visitor is seeing in their address bar is the one the Clicky will track. So if you ensure that your visitors are always using the canonical URL then it shouldn't be a problem.

But you've already stated that a particular page will have multiple "valid" URLs, so you'll need to do a little extra work to tell Clicky what you're trying to do. You can do this by using the clicky_custom variable and setting the .href property to override the URL being used to track the page.
