How can I bypass my own IP on clicky? Please help me!
I don't want to see my own visits. I have not been able to figure this out. Please someone write the how to step by steps, I have googled for days on end and I can't find "how to bypass my own IP on clicky" I can only do this very easily on sitemeter but sitemeter is no good. Please help a guy out. I'm working on my website and I don't want to see that I've been on the site 100 times in 2 hours, it crowds out the real visitors. Thanks.Paul

Click on Preferences on top menu > visitor tags & filters > Set/remove cookie to ignore your own visits

Thank you Joel but I do not see this. I think I am missing some info??
I have clicked "Preferences" which is the last one on the top menu and it takes me to a page with ONLY this:
"Site information". There is nothing like "visitor tags & filters > Set/remove cookie" options under preferences.
Where would I find this please? Is it possible for you to attach a screen capture and link it to tinypic perhaps? Thank you again for your help.

Please note: I have basic account (not paying) as I am starting off.

Oh, I just found the sub menu (in very faint lettering) that is revealed by clicking "preferences" so I was able to find it, thank you so much, Joel! One more question, if I may:
Is it possible at all to delete my past visits? If yes how do I do this??
Thanks again!!!

Sorry Paul again: IT IS NOT WORKING!!!! I just went to my website both directly and via proxy and both ways it records two visits from me: what did I do wrong????
I do have this:

You are currently ignoring yourself from your stats via a cookie.

So what went wrong???? (the proxy indicates my IP and entrance via proxy, the other my IP as usual)
I might have to start a new thread being that there's too many replies maybe no one will click this again?? :(

No, there is no way to cancel the record of your previous visits.
Sorry, I don't know why your visits would continue to be recorded if the message is appearing that you are ignoring your own visits.

Ok, stupid question, I know but...
...IS THERE A SAVE BUTTON ANYWHERE ON THE PAGE I'M SUPPOSED TO HIT???
Sorry for caps but want this to stand out. I just FINALLY found where to add my own IP MANUALLY by clicking "Add new visitor tag/filter" under the same page and it took!! I was so happy! I waited a while, I check my site, problem solved, right? I came here to announce the good news, when I decide to check via proxy when to my horror, the count upped to 3 visitors today, you guessed it: all me!!
My 2 visits of earlier and now the one both via proxy and without proxy, it records my IP plus entry via (proxy name). I went back to dashboard, back to my site, back onto Clicky and yes, my IP is STILL registered as 'DO NOT LOG VISITS FROM THIS IP' with a huge X to the left of my aka and IP #. :(
I feel really really hopeless here. Is this failure on my part of failure on Clicky's part? I'm not sure what more I can do on my end....

If the cookie is set but you're still getting tracked, that means you don't have third party cookies enabled. This is necessary for the cookie to make it all way the back to our servers when you get tracked on your web site. Whatever browser you are using, for example Internet Explorer, please search GOogle for "internet explorer enable third party cookies".
IP blocking will work too but it can take an hour or two before it takes effect.

Thank you admin! I have never disabled cookies. I just checked by going onto Firefox > Options > Remove Cookies and without removing anything I can see that I have 2 cookies enabled from Clicky, the second one is called clicky_ignore_762XXXX (the X's being other digits, doing this for potential privacy). It comes from stats.webs.com. The other one is called cluid from static.freewebs.getclicky.com
I guess I will be patient and will wait to see if it takes effect later on. If not will report back either tonight or tomorrow morning, and thank you again for attending to my request, much appreciated, both you and Joel. Have a great week end!

Yes the clicky_ignore one is the one that tells us to ignore your visits.

Hi!
Paul here wanting to report success: no more problems, finger crossed, all my visits of today while editing and checking edits have been completely ignored! I am so happy no longer to have to look at my stats and appear like my own stalker, LOL!!
Thanks again Joel & Admin for your time & kind help! :)
