Will Clicky show a box on my website?
So after spending many days trying to convince our web designer to implement Clicky on our website he finally agreed but now says if he puts it on the website, it will appear as a big box at the bottom of the site, visible to other viewers.Which is obviously not something I want.
My question is, is this true? And if so is there a way we can disable this?
Thanks!

Not true, and you should consider firing your designer for speaking bullshit :)
It is not a big box but rather a 88x31 affiliate link (see how it looks here static.getclicky.com/media/links/badge.gif), and you can remove it if you like (I suggest you do this only if you're using the paid service -- otherwise it is not fair game).
There is a second static image, which is 1x1 pixel big and is used to track browsers that have JavaScript disabled.
So seriously, smack your 'web designer' on the head :)

Ivan,
Thanks a lot for this reply.
I suspected as much. I only started my new job last week but it has indeed become rather clear he is a bit of a fool.
Would you happen to know how I disable this gif? (And yes, I will indeed be paying for this privilege)
Thanks again.

In the code you insert to enable tracking there is a a href link wrapped around the gif. edit it out.

not sure about that Ivan, and while I'm always happy to call a blockhead a blockhead, I get a black box about 60x60 pixels on all of my sites that shows how many visitors are on the site right now that I don't seem to be able to get rid of.
I've been trying to figure out how to get rid of it and In lieu of better options I just ended up using CSS.
#_oss_main {
visibility: hidden;
}
Cheers, and yes, i'm a paying customer.

After making my post, I was inspired to research further, and it turns out that there is a fairly easy way to remove the box:
https://secure.getclicky.com/user/edit and disable on-site analytics, and the box goes away.
