I Need to Know How Email Marketing Converts with Goal FunnelsHello,
We send our newsletter reader to a blog post that links to the sales page.
We need to know
How many people clicked on the email link
went to the blog post
then to the sales page
I looked around in the forum but could not find a solid answer to that.
We use Aweber and Wordpress. The sales page is a basic HTML page though.
Please let me know if that can be done and how.

You need to:
1) Tag the email links with campaign data. Clicky logs standard Google Urchin tags such as utm_source, utm_medium and utm_campaign, and allows complete custom tracking with utm_custom[xxxxxx] tags. Read the blog post here for details http://getclicky.com/blog/page/4
2) Set up goal tracking in Clicky. Dashboard->Preferences->Goals->Setup, and look around.
Any more detailed instruction than that, it means you should probably offer to pay somebody to do it :)

Thank you for your reply Ivan,
Well, I think something so obvious deserves a free tutorial. I paid for this service and I see very little explanation anywhere. What's the point of providing a service without teaching how to use it?
88% of Aweber users said they wanted to track sales conversions. That should tell GetClicky people something.
I see that Getclicky will log the clicks to the page and the sales for the sales page but will it really tell me how many of the people who clicked arrived to the download page?
I'll try and implement this and hopefully it will work.
I only want numbers not exact names and emails.

Using Clicky assumes working knowledge of tracking traffic, setting up goals to monitor conversions, etc., etc. Most users of this service are up to speed on these topics, and making video tutorials for such a crowd is wasteful.
When I look at the things you are asking about, I assume you have little or no idea how to track email campaigns. This is not a Clicky feature, and you really need to know how to setup tracking inside emails. No need to complain, this is something you have to know as a webmaster/marketer/etc. You don't read about it in the Clicky help system to see how it's done, you read about it in the Email Campaigning bookshelf in your library or whatever :) Clicky is just a tool that helps you see the results of the tracking. When you know what/how to track it, and read the link I gave you in my previous reply, you will know how to use it.
So asking like you do will likely get you nowhere. People are busy working on their websites and what you are asking is not easy to explain in 3 minutes. Sorry!

Are you the business owner of clicky? Are you serious?
Clicky is a tool to track. I expect some guidance on how to track
using the tool clicky. That's seems sensible to me.
Tracking inside emails is not rocket science. I've done that in the past.
I think I know what I want to track. I've been very clear about that.
I do set up goals in analytics but it's true I don't know much about funnels.
"Email Campaigning bookshelf in your library or whatever :)" is not what I expected in
terms of reply.
I'll try and implement what you said but please don't through at my face that I
don't know what I'm doing. No I don't. I don't know your product before using it
and it's OK that I still have to learn a few things.

I am not the owner of GetClicky, I think I've made this apparent by signing both my replies the way I have. I don't see how I have led you to believe otherwise.

I'm glad. Thanks for your help Ivan. I do appreciate it. That was enough for me to get the rest.
Have a great day
