Sign in with Google is here!

April 1, 2026

Whether you're just signing up for Clicky today, or you're so old that you've had an account with us since before the iPhone existed 👴... everyone (with a Google account) can now use Sign in with Google to securely access their Clicky account. The only data points we use from your Google profile are your name and email; nothing else!

Google offers a variety of strong multi-factor authentication options, making this a much more secure method than our original token-based 2FA system that we released in 2021. It's also more reliable, since you don't have to worry about automated emails being delayed or hitting your spam filters.

Existing users

It's simple as pie to migrate to Google sign in, whether you were using our old 2FA system or not.

New users

We've cleaned up and simplified the new user page, so it's faster and easier whether or not you use Google. Of course, we recommend you hit that "Sign up with Google" button to create your account lickety split.

Side note: I am constantly floored by the number of sites that let you register with Google sign in, only to make you go through their entire manual account creation process afterwards anyways, including creating a password... What's even the point of that?! So don't worry, you won't run into that nonsense around these parts!

This last screenshot is also what you'll see if you already have an account, but the email address doesn't match. If that happens, just double check your email address and try again!

The old token-based 2FA system is still available to those who already have it, but Google sign in will be the only system offered to both new users and existing users starting today.
