2FA / Sign in with Google
Clicky supports several 2FA (two-factor authentication) methods to secure your account against unauthorized access.
Sign in with Google
This is the most secure way to access your account, as Google offers a variety of strong multi-factor authentication options. The only data points we access from your Google profile are your name and email; nothing else!
New users can create a Clicky account by choosing Sign in with Google on the
new account page, so they're fully secure right off the bat.
Existing users can link their Clicky account to their Google account by choosing Sign in with Google on the
login page, as long as the email addresses match (check your
user preferences). Note that standard password login will no longer be available for your account once you link your Google account.
Token-based email 2FA
This system sends a token to your registered email when you log in, that you then copy and paste into a form that is shown afterwards.
This is still
available to users who had previously enabled it, but it cannot be enabled for accounts that don't already have it, as the newer Google method is much more secure and reliable. This option may be removed in the future.
