Can I change my hostname if changing domain name?

Hey there,

I'm switching domains on my website but was hoping to preserve historic reporting data in my account.

Can I simply change the Hostname in my preferences, to match the new domain name, when the site is published?

Clicky code will be included on the new domain name, the same as the old one.

Are there any other potential things I may need to change, aside from the Hostname setting?

Yes that's all you need to do, just change the domain in site prefs.

Note, if BOTH domains will be active, then add one as a 'mirror', and check the 'force hostname' box so they show up in your content report as the same site (otherwise it will segment them).

When changing domains, I highly recommend just setting a 301 redirect from the old one to the new one so just the new domain is live after that. And if you do that, you won't need to worry about the mirrors setting.
