DDoS attack Apr 4

We were offline for about 4 hours on Tue Apr 4, from approximately 8am to 12pm PST, due to a distributed denial of service attack (DDoS).

We always post to our Twitter account when there are major issues, so please follow us on there, for further updates to this outage and anything else that happens in the future.

Many of us do not use twitter, so it would be nice to be able to know about news or incidents directly on your site.

But man, why would they inform about the incident directly on their site when their site was not accessible? Having another platform to communicate in case this happens is necessary.

Correct, we can't use our site to notify customers of issues with our site, when our site is not accessible.

Yes, in case of total site downtime it is necessary to have an external page accessible, but there are solutions to be able to have a status page.
