Can clicky.me track sales through email?

Hi,

I have copy/paste my clicky codes to my thank you page (the one visitors see after they purchase) and I am now planning to use the clicky.me url shortner in my email campaigns so i can know which email is giving the sale and which email is converting better.

Can clicky.me do this with my email campaigns?

John

Sure, although technically there's no need to. The only thing you need to do is setup campaigns to track the email. The easiest way is with "dynamic" campaigns, where you just add a variable or two to your links. Say you have two different emails you're testing that both point to http://yoursite.com/page.

In one email you could do:
http://yoursite.com/page?utm_campaign=email&utm_content=version+1

And the other:
http://yoursite.com/page?utm_campaign=email&utm_content=version+2

"utm_campaign" is like a "group", since these are email newsletter, you'd want to use somehting like "email" for both of them. "utm_content" is a way to uniquely identify which particular email was this visitor saw.

Then if you have goals setup (I'm assuming you do if you're tracking sales), those will be integrated directly into the campaign report automatically for both versions of your campaign. Even if you don't have goals setup, you'll at least be able to see which version of the email is leading to more click-throughs.

Hi John,

Yes, using clicky.me short links in your email campaigns can definitely help track which emails bring clicks and conversions. Since you already have the Clicky tracking code on your thank you page, you’ll be able to see which link led to the purchase by following the referrer data.

However, for even more detailed insights and better deliverability, you might also look into dedicated email delivery platforms like SMTPWire. They offer advanced tracking, analytics, and real-time reporting so you can see exactly which campaigns convert — and help ensure your emails actually land in the inbox.

Hope this helps!
